Agartala, 24th March 2026: A large number of traders gathered in front of the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) office from early Tuesday morning to register for the upcoming Chaitra Mela. Businessmen from various parts of the state were seen queuing up to secure their participation in the annual fair.
Speaking on the matter, Mayor Dipak Majumder informed that this year’s Chaitra Mela will be organized at Children’s Park. Keeping in mind the convenience of traders, the municipal corporation has taken several measures to ensure smooth operations during the event.
He specifically mentioned that covered stalls are being arranged so that business activities are not disrupted due to adverse weather conditions.
The Mayor further stated that arrangements have been made to accommodate around 400 to 500 traders. In addition, the administration will take necessary steps to maintain discipline and ensure a well-organized environment throughout the fair.
Appealing to the traders, Majumder urged everyone to follow the rules and conduct their business peacefully, ensuring that the festive atmosphere of the mela remains undisturbed.
