Agartala, 26th March 2026:  In preparations for the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council elections are gaining momentum, with the Bharatiya Janata Party taking an organized and strategic approach.

The elections are scheduled for April 12, with results to be announced on April 17. The BJP has decided to contest independently this time and has fielded candidates across all constituencies, signaling confidence in its grassroots support.

To strengthen coordination and ensure effective campaign management, the party has appointed six senior leaders—including five ministers and a former Member of Parliament—as cluster in-charges for the 28 constituencies under the council.

Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma has been entrusted with overseeing seven constituencies spread across North and Dhalai districts. Former MP Rebati Tripura has been assigned responsibility for four constituencies across Dhalai and Khowai districts. Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma will supervise two constituencies in Khowai district.

Similarly, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath has been given charge of several constituencies in and around the Jirania and Takarjala regions. Education Minister Kishore Barman will oversee constituencies including Amtali-Golaghati, Kathalia-Mirza Rajapur, and Ampinagar, among others. Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy has been assigned constituencies such as Natunbazar-Malbasa and Silachari-Manubankul.

This structured deployment of senior leadership reflects the party’s emphasis on coordinated outreach and focused governance messaging ahead of the elections.
