Agartala, 26th March 2026:   A significant meeting of the Tripura Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Unity Association was held on March 26, 2026, at the Student Health Home near Jagannath Jew Temple here. The meeting was attended by Anganwadi workers and helpers from different parts of Tripura, including participants from several projects. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss their long-pending demands and decide how they would continue their protest movement in the coming days.

Speaking to the media personnel after the meeting, Kalpana Koloi said that the workers have been demanding proper recognition and better working conditions for many years. She said that in the past, they had tried to organise rallies like the one at Vivekananda Stage, but were often unable to proceed due to lack of police permission. Because of this, the workers are now planning their next steps carefully and are even ready to seek legal support if needed.

The workers and helpers strongly raised several key demands during the meeting. These include equal pay for equal work, government recognition, and benefits similar to other government employees. They also demanded gratuity, a proper retirement package of Rs 10 lakh for workers and Rs 5 lakh for helpers, and a clear promotion system. According to the participants, many qualified helpers have not been promoted to workers, and experienced workers have not been promoted to supervisors for several years.

The leaders of the organisation said that the meeting was very important as it helped everyone come together and take a united decision. They also made it clear that the movement will continue peacefully until the government listens to their demands and takes proper action. The gathering ended with a strong message of unity and determination from the Anganwadi workers and helpers across the state.
