Agartala, 30th March 2026: Serious allegations have surfaced from the Kanchanmala area regarding irregularities in the evaluation of schoolchildren’s results.
It is reported that Vivek Alok Shishu Tirtha English Medium School has been operating illegally on government-owned land near the Kanchanmala Gram Panchayat under Golaghati assembly constituency. This morning, the school published its annual examination results, which sparked controversy.
Parents of Class V student Shibam Bhattacharjee found discrepancies in his marksheet. Although Shivam had secured a total of 651.5 marks, his marksheet reflected only 588.5 marks, placing him third in the class instead of first. Upon confrontation, school principal Shrifal Shil admitted to the error and promised rectification.
The incident triggered outrage among parents in the locality, who accused the school authorities of deliberately tampering with results and jeopardizing children’s futures. Shibam’s father Rajib Bhattacharya expressed anger alleging that the principal was “playing with the future of students through deliberate manipulation.” He further claimed that the school has long been encroaching on government land, despite its designated site being near a riverside.
Local sources revealed that multiple complaints have previously been lodged against the school’s management. Today’s incident has intensified protests, with parents demanding strict administrative action. Many are now reconsidering whether to enroll their children in the institution in the future.
