Agartala, 30th March 2026: Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhurty criticized the CPIM for allegedly exploiting tribals during their rule and questioned the Tipra Motha Party for failing to bring development to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). He urged voters to support the BJP for genuine progress.
While campaigning for BJP candidate Rajesh Debbarma in the Mandainagar-Pulinpur constituency, the Minister highlighted that local residents have witnessed several regional and indigenous parties over the years. “The people have seen how CPIM suppressed and exploited indigenous communities,” he said.
Pointing to the current leadership of the Tipra Motha Party in the district council, he added, “If the TTAADC is to see real development, only a national party like BJP can deliver. We can ensure progress for the indigenous population.”
Chowdhurty emphasized the BJP’s widespread governance, noting its presence at the Centre, in Delhi, Tripura, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Manipur, among other states. He stressed the need for development in areas such as social pensions, health, and education, saying, “Without strengthening the ADC, tribal development cannot happen. By forming a BJP-led council, we aim to work for everyone without discrimination between tribal and non-tribal communities.”
He concluded by reminding voters that the district council elections are scheduled for April 12 and called for their support to bring transformative development to the region.
