DGP Reviews Security Arrangements for ADC Polls, Issues Strict Guidelines

Agartala, 30th March 2026:  Tripura’s Director General of Police (DGP), Anurag, IPS, on Monday conducted a high-level review meeting, held in hybrid mode, to evaluate the security preparedness for the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections as well as the scheduled bye-elections.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Police Headquarters (PHQ), along with District Superintendents of Police (SPs), Commandants of Tripura State Rifles (TSR) battalions, and Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs).

According to a senior police official, the key objective of the meeting was to ensure robust security measures and maintain law and order throughout the election period.

During the session, the DGP issued firm instructions to all officers, stressing heightened vigilance and proactive policing. He underscored the importance of adopting a zero-tolerance stance against any form of disruption to guarantee that the elections are conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner.

The DGP further noted that adequate personnel from the Tripura State Rifles have been deployed strategically to reinforce security at the ground level. Commandants and Assistant Commandants were directed to remain on high alert and ensure swift response readiness in case of any untoward incidents.
