Agartala, 3rd April 2026:    Some regional parties have raised slogans like Tipraland, Thansa, etc., but in reality, this is not possible. They are just making the Janajati people fool, and BJP is the only party that works for the real development of the Janajati areas.

This was said by Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath today while addressing an election campaign in Birmohanbari under the Bodhjungnagar-Wakhinagar constituency for BJP-nominated candidate Ranabir Debbarma.

He said that after our government came to power, we have provided free rice to the people. No one, including Tipra Motha and CPIM, ever provided free rice. “Among 6,000 families, around 4,000 families are receiving free rice. We will provide it to everyone except government employees. We have achieved 100% water connection. This has also been done by the BJP government and PM Modi. Around 2,000 people are receiving social pensions, which were around 500 earlier. All these things have been possible due to the BJP government, which you people must understand. Many say they love Tiprasa, but no one received the Padma Shri award earlier. After the BJP government came, we have given Padma Shri to 11 personalities, among whom 9 are from the Janajati community. Why did they not receive Padma Shri before 2018?” said the Minister.

The Minister informed that earlier no one from Tripura became a Governor, but now we have a Governor from the Janajati community, Jishnu Dev Varma.

“All this has been possible only due to PM Modi. PM Modi always stresses development and progress of the Janajati, and following him, the state government led by BJP is working in the same way,” said the Minister.

The Minister said that there are many political parties that only speak but never work for the Janajati.

“A massive amount is being spent by the state government for the development of Janajati areas. No one wants development except BJP. Many have raised slogans like Tipraland and Thansa, but such things are not possible. The only possible thing is development. We know how to give respect to the Janajati. Our government has been working to protect the culture and language of the Janajati, for which the previous government never worked. We also want Thansa, but Thansa means with everyone. Some regional parties are misleading the Janajati people and not working for them,” said the Power Minister.
