BJP Booth Office Attacked in Batanmura, Party Workers Protest

Date:

Agartala, 3rd April 2026: Despite delivering messages of peaceful elections, one of the state’s regional parties has been unable to curb internal extremism. Late Thursday night, miscreants allegedly entered the No. 8 booth office in Batanmura, under the Charilam Mandal, and damaged BJP campaign materials.

According to reports, the BJP booth office in Batanmura was inaugurated just a few days ago. Since then, it has reportedly faced repeated attacks from miscreants. On Thursday night, the assailants targeted the No. 8 booth office, destroying election campaign decorations, according to allegations.

Expressing concern over police inaction, local BJP booth president Sanjib Debbarma urged the administration to ensure regular police patrolling for the safety of the booth office. He also pointed out that while other party offices, including those of the Tipra Motha Party, remain untouched, only the BJP office is being attacked, leaving little doubt about the perpetrators.

Following the incident, BJP workers in the area staged a protest on Friday to condemn the attack.
