Date:

Agartala, 25th April 2026 :  Bhavan’s plays a significant role not only in imparting academic knowledge to its students but also in fostering their social, moral, and mental development. Like every year, this year too, World Book Day and English Language Day, marking the birth anniversary of William Shakespeare, were celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Auditorium of Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir, Narsingarh.

At the beginning of the programme, the Principal of the school, Swapna Som, delivered the welcome address. In her speech, she highlighted the global importance of the English language. The event was graced by eminent writer Debabrata Debroy as the chief guest. In his address, he praised the school’s discipline, overall development, and described it as a shining example in the literary sphere of the state. Several other distinguished guests from Maitri Sangshad, Agartala, were also present on the occasion.

The programme featured various activities by the students, including speeches, quizzes, presentations through projectors, as well as musical and dramatic performances. A drama by William Shakespeare, Macbeth, was also enacted by the students, adding depth and theatrical brilliance to the programme.

Notably, on this day, eight new books authored by eight talented students of Bhavan’s—Anurag Bardhan, Shreyas Das, Rashmita Dutta, Ritam Saha, Abhinav Roy, Ayush Saha, Debjit Shil, and Malini Bhattacharya—were officially released.

The guests highly appreciated the students’ literary efforts and the remarkable achievement of publishing so many books together. With the enthusiastic participation of a large number of students, the one-day programme was a grand success overall.
