Tripura Blind Association to celebrate Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary

Agartala, 25th April 2026:   The All Tripura Blind Committee and the Cricket Association for the Blind in Tripura have announced a series of programmes to mark the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.

At a joint press conference held at Agartala Press Club on Saturday, the organisations said the celebrations will take place on May 9 at the old campus hall of the Narsingarh Blind Boys’ and Girls’ School. A cultural programme will be staged from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

In addition, the Cricket Association for the Blind in Tripura will host an Inter-State Blind Cricket Tournament, featuring teams from Assam and Tripura. The Assam team is scheduled to arrive on May 8 and return on May 11. Over three days, three T20 matches will be played as part of the tournament.

The organisers said the initiative aims to honour the legacy of the Nobel laureate while promoting inclusivity through culture and sports.
