Pradyot Meets Tripura Governor, Pushes for TTAADC Reforms and Constitutional Safeguards

Date:

Agartala, 28th April 2026:  Tipra Motha Party founder and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma on Tuesday met Indrasena Reddy Nallu and held discussions on strengthening the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), along with pending constitutional issues linked to the body.

Following the meeting, Pradyot shared on social media that he briefed the Governor on the need for administrative and structural reforms within the TTAADC to improve its functioning and governance. He also raised concerns regarding what he described as pending constitutional provisions for the council, which, according to him, have already been extended to similar autonomous bodies in other northeastern states.

He further stated that, as the constitutional guardian of Sixth Schedule areas, the Governor’s intervention is important in addressing key issues affecting the tribal council and its people.

Describing the interaction as constructive, he said he sought support from the Governor on multiple administrative and policy matters concerning the council.

The meeting comes shortly after the recent TTAADC elections held on April 12, with results announced on April 17. In the 28-seat contest, the Tipra Motha Party secured a dominant victory by winning 24 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) managed to win 4 seats.
