Agartala, 15th May 2026: A serious road accident occurred near the JNS Club on the National Highway in Sabroom, South Tripura, leaving a young man critically injured.
The injured youth has been identified as Sujan Munda, son of Pran Govinda Munda, a resident of East Ludhua. Local sources informed that Sujan’s speeding motorcycle rammed into the rear of a vehicle, causing him to be thrown off the bike and sustain severe injuries. Another rider on the motorcycle escaped with minor injuries.
Locals rushed the victims to the Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital, where duty doctor Dr. Prasenjit Das provided initial treatment. However, as Sujan’s condition deteriorated, he was referred to South Tripura District Hospital at Santirbazar for advanced care. Dr. Das himself confirmed the development to the media.
The incident has sparked concern among residents, who allege that the long, straight stretch of the highway near the JNS Club often encourages reckless speeding, leading to repeated accidents. Locals have now urged the authorities, including Sabroom Police Station, to construct a road divider in the area to prevent future mishaps.
