Agartala, 24th May 2026: After successfully completing the 13-day Young Scientist Programme (Yuva Vigyani Karyakram 2026) at the ISRO Space Applications Centre (SAC) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, fourteen talented students from Tripura returned to the state on Saturday. The students had travelled to Ahmedabad on May 10 after being selected through a competitive screening process.
The participants, representing various reputed schools across Tripura, got the opportunity to take part in the prestigious scientific programme organised by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Their return to Agartala was met with warm reception and appreciation at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport.
Among the selected students was Snigdhalata Ghosh, a Class X student of PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Sepahijala, who was the only participant chosen from Sepahijala district.
Speaking about her experience, Snigdhalata said the programme was highly inspiring and educational. She expressed pride in representing Tripura at a premier institution like ISRO and said the interaction with senior scientists and exposure to scientific research greatly enhanced their learning experience.
She mentioned that the participants were engaged in several practical activities, including rocket making and launching, as well as designing robotic models similar to Pragyan, the rover used in India’s lunar exploration mission.
The programme also gave the students an opportunity to visit different ISRO research centres, helping them gain deeper insight into space science and modern technology.
Snigdhalata further expressed hope that more students from smaller states such as Tripura would receive similar opportunities in the future to explore and learn from India’s leading space research institutions.
