Motor theft at Camp Bazaar; Police recovered

Agartala, 30th May 2026:   Agartala witnessed a dramatic turn of events on Friday evening after a water motor was stolen from an under-construction flat in the Camp Bazaar area. Police swiftly detained the accused thief, whose interrogation led to the recovery of the stolen motor from a local hardware shop.

According to officials, the thief confessed to selling the motor—worth Rs 12,000—for just Rs 1,000 to the shop. When confronted, the shop owner denied any involvement, escalating the matter to the AD Nagar police station. Eventually, police seized the stolen motor from the shop premises.

The incident created a wave of tension and curiosity across Camp Bazaar, with locals shocked at how quickly the theft unraveled into a larger controversy involving a businessman’s identity and address. By Friday night, the area was buzzing with discussions about the case, which has now become the talk of the town.
