CPIM, DYFI demand arrest of all involved in Anandanagar School girl assault case

Date:

Agartala, 9th June 2026:  The local committee of the CPI(M), led by DYFI State Secretary Nabarun Deb on Tuesday gave a deputation to the Srinagar Police Station demanding the immediate arrest of all persons involved in the alleged molestation of a schoolgirl at Anandanagar Higher Secondary School.

The deputation called for a comprehensive investigation into the incident. While the principal accused has already been arrested by the police, CPI(M) leaders urged authorities to identify and take action against those who allegedly facilitated the crime by providing access to the school premises.

According to party representatives, the incident took place on June 6 when a female student was allegedly confined inside a classroom for nearly six hours and subjected to abuse by an outsider with no official connection to the institution. The matter came to public attention after it was reported by local news channels, following which the police initiated action and arrested the main accused.

Addressing reporters outside the police station, DYFI State Secretary Nabarun Deb raised serious concerns over the security arrangements at the school. He questioned how an outsider managed to obtain the keys to a classroom and gain entry to the school building after regular school hours.

“This cannot be treated as an isolated act committed by a single individual. The investigation must determine who handed over the keys and whether anyone within the institution assisted the accused,” Deb said.

The CPI(M) and DYFI leaders asserted that any person found to have aided the accused, directly or indirectly, should be treated as an accomplice and prosecuted under the law.

The delegation submitted a memorandum to the Officer-in-Charge of Srinagar Police Station, demanding a thorough probe, swift justice for the victim, and stringent punishment for all those involved in the incident.
