Samvidhan Bachao Mancha sweeps Tripura Bar Association election

Agartala, 14th June 2026:   Candidates backed by the ‘Samvidhan Bachao Mancha’ (Save the Constitution Platform) registered a major victory in the Tripura Bar Association Election 2026-2028, winning key posts with strong margins.

In the election results, Pritha Deb Pal was elected as the President (General) after securing 186 votes. Jibon Krishna Sen won the post of Vice-President (General) with 221 votes, while Bhaskar Debbarma emerged victorious as the Secretary (General) by securing 298 votes.

For the post of Assistant Secretary (Women Reserved), Mallika Saha secured the highest position with 319 votes, while Bhavani Ranjan Bhattacharya won the post of Assistant Secretary (General) with 219 votes.

Among the Members (Women Reserved) category, Ruthy Debbarma secured the highest number of votes in the entire election, receiving 322 votes. She was followed by Likha Bhowmik with 280 votes and Bhandari Riang with 237 votes.

In the Members (General) category, Swarup Pandit topped the list by securing the highest overall vote tally of 342 votes. Other successful candidates included Niladri Mukherjee (313 votes), Debabrata Debnath (306 votes), Kishalay Roy (291 votes), Debajyoti Debnath (271 votes), Anirban Lodh (266 votes) and Arpan Das (266 votes).

The election witnessed participation from members of the legal fraternity, with the results reflecting strong support for the candidates associated with the Samvidhan Bachao Mancha panel. The newly elected office bearers will serve the Tripura Bar Association for the 2026-2028 term.
