Agartala, 16th June 2026: A three-day ‘Jan Kalyan Shivir’ organized in South Tripura district to commemorate 12 years of good governance, development initiatives, and public welfare programmes under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed an overwhelming response from people.
The camp was inaugurated on June 16 at Mukut Auditorium, Santirbazar, with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by South Tripura District Sabhadhipati Dipak Datta. Addressing the gathering, the Sabhadhipati highlighted the country’s progress over the past 12 years and emphasized the impact of various government welfare schemes on people’s lives.
District Magistrate Mohammad Sajjad P and Santirbazar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Tarun Kanti Sarkar attended the programme as special guests. They stressed the administration’s commitment to ensuring that government services and benefits reach people at their doorstep.
Several government departments set up stalls at the venue, attracting a large number of visitors. Special arrangements were made for registration of differently-abled persons and providing benefits under various schemes. Departments including Agriculture, Disaster Management, Forest, Police, Motor Vehicles, and Women & Child Welfare provided information about government initiatives.
The Women and Child Welfare Department’s Matrimangal Yojana stall also received significant attention from beneficiaries. The camp provided an opportunity for people to directly interact with administrative officials and share their concerns.
The administration expressed gratitude to citizens for their active participation and described the initiative as a significant step towards strengthening public welfare delivery in South Tripura.
