Unauthorized Soil Excavation Banned in West Tripura Without Prior Permission

Agartala, 19th June 2026:  The District Magistrate of West Tripura has issued a public notification highlighting concerns over unauthorized soil excavation, cutting, and removal activities taking place in various areas without proper approval from the competent authorities.

According to the notice, such unregulated activities can lead to environmental degradation, damage to both government and private properties, and the creation of other adverse conditions.

In view of these risks, the District Magistrate has stated that under Sections 26, 30, and 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2025, no individual, organization, contractor, or group will be allowed to excavate, cut, or remove soil within the subdivisions of West Tripura district without prior permission from the respective Sub-Divisional Magistrates.

All Panchayat Secretaries and Ward Secretaries have been instructed to maintain strict vigilance in their respective areas and immediately inform the Sub-Divisional Magistrates about any instances of unauthorized soil excavation, cutting, or removal activities.

The administration has emphasized strict enforcement to prevent environmental harm and safeguard public and private assets.
