Agartala, 20th June 2026:  Tripura is set to witness a major expansion in its digital infrastructure with the proposed establishment of a new IT Park at Amtali Bypass, Agartala. Finance and IT Minister Pranajit Singha Roy announced that a proposal has already been submitted to the central ministry for approval, with the project expected to attract an initial investment of at least ₹500 crore.

Addressing the 8th Foundation Day celebration of iLogitron Technologies Pvt. Ltd., the Minister said the state government is working towards building a “Digital Tripura” by promoting technology-driven governance and education. He highlighted initiatives including paperless administrative services, Wi-Fi facilities in colleges, and the distribution of smartphones to more than 50,000 students.

Roy also informed that land has been allotted at Chanmari, Agartala, to Bharti Airtel (Nxtra by Airtel) for setting up North East India’s largest private data centre and regional corporate office. The ₹200 crore project is expected to generate employment opportunities, and he urged companies investing in Tripura to prioritize recruitment of qualified local youth.

Praising iLogitron Technologies for its contribution to technology and social service, Roy said voluntary blood donation has become a culture of compassion in Tripura. “There was a time when people died due to lack of blood. Today, the situation has changed completely,” he said.

The programme also featured recognition of blood donors, distribution of computers to educational institutions, and a presentation highlighting iLogitron’s eight-year journey in e-Governance, software solutions, digital transformation, and IoT technologies.

The event was attended by TIDC Chairman Nabadal Banik, IT Director Raghul Geshan B., IFS, senior officials, industry representatives, and donors.
