Agartala, 20th June 2026: The Anandabazar Community Health Centre (CHC), under the S.K. Para Health Sub-Centre executed an immediate response operation, organizing a special malaria awareness and health camp at Khasikhai Para today. The camp was mobilized to prevent the outbreak of malaria and other water-borne diseases during the monsoon season.
A total of 48 local residents underwent medical examinations at the camp, where blood tests were arranged for all attendees. Following a thorough screening, one individual tested positive for the malaria parasite. The health center authorities swiftly initiated necessary medical treatment and care for the infected patient. Free medicines were also distributed to all patients present.
Alongside health checkups, a special awareness session was held to educate villagers on preventing mosquito breeding by clearing stagnant water, using mosquito nets, and drinking boiled water to ward off diseases like diarrhea and typhoid.
The entire program was successfully led by Multi-Purpose Worker (MPW) Smt. Hamthauti Reang, alongside five active ASHA workers who worked tirelessly to mobilize the villagers. Health authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining strict vigilance and continuing such camps to ensure a malaria-free society in remote areas.
