Governor visits Ekklavya Model School in Khumulwng, interacts with students during ‘Mann Ki Baat’ session

Agartala, 28th June 2026:  The Governor of Tripura, Indrasena Reddy Nallu, visited an Eklavya Model School in Khumulwng this morning, where he inspected various facilities including classrooms, the library, and the hostel. During the visit, he took stock of the overall functioning of the institution and interacted with staff members on different administrative and academic matters.

While at the school, the Governor joined students and others in listening to the 135th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” programme. After the broadcast, he held an interactive session with students, discussing the key messages and summarising the importance of the Prime Minister’s address. He also highlighted the relevance of the programme for students and encouraged them to reflect on its themes.

Senior officials, including the West District Magistrate Dr. Bishal Kumar, West District Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak, and the Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council, were present during the programme.

Later, the Governor visited the Roshni Women Cluster Level Federation (CLF) Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited in Mohanpur, where he engaged with members of various self-help groups. The president of the Roshni CLF briefed him on the functioning and activities of the cluster-based organisation.

During the visit, the Governor also planted saplings at the CLF premises as part of an environmental initiative. He further inspected a bamboo processing unit run by a self-help group under the Diwali initiative, appreciating their efforts in generating employment through the use of local raw materials.

He praised the women SHG members for their contribution to livelihood generation and local entrepreneurship.

In a subsequent visit, the Governor reached the house of Shova Debbarma in Kheparam Para under Purba Noagaon Gram Panchayat of Old Agartala Block. He interacted with her and inquired about her duck farming activities. It is notable that earlier, at a programme in Raj Bhavan, the Governor had personally handed over ducklings to Shova Debbarma.
