Agartala, 29th June 2026:  Tripura is set to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure with the addition of advanced diagnostic equipment under support from the Prime Minister’s Fund, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha announced today.

He said that an agreement (MoU) was signed between the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and the Tripura Health Department for the supply and operationalisation of 48 AI-enabled portable handheld X-ray machines, three 1.5 Tesla MRI machines, and three Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) mammography units.

Dr Saha announced that the advanced medical equipment will be installed at district hospitals in Dhalai, North Tripura, and Gomati, enhancing diagnostic capabilities and improving access to quality healthcare services for residents across these districts.

Dr. Saha said the initiative marks a significant step towards modernising the state’s public healthcare system and ensuring better medical facilities for patients, particularly in underserved areas.
