Govt working on development agenda following PM Modi’s vision: CM

Date:

Agartala, 14th July 2026:  Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that the Tripura government is progressing with the development and welfare of the state and its people and is working by following the footsteps of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Our main agenda is development. Our BJP government in the state and the Central government always work for development. In the last 12 years of PM Modi, the country has witnessed massive development, and we have been working to provide public welfare schemes,” he said.

Dr. Saha said this while inaugurating various projects under Gomati district at Rajarshi Hall, Udaipur, Gomati district. He said that the majority of people die due to non-communicable diseases like hypertension, diabetes, COPD, cancer, CKD, alcoholic fatty liver disease, etc. As per our report, Tripura is also included in this.

“We must identify the diseases before they start. Those who are above 30 years of age, we are doing screening. Every year we have taken a target of 15 lakh. If we don’t do such things, we can’t achieve Sustho Tripura. To keep people healthy, we have initiated the Mukhyamantri Niramaya Arogya Abhiyan, Lab Network, and Stop Diarrhoea, which is a hub-and-spoke model. People now do not need to go to outside laboratories for tests as we have everything. We are working to provide better healthcare to people. We have inaugurated a civil hospital which started with 50 beds and has the presence of every department. The OPD services will be available 24×7. If this continues to work perfectly, in the remaining 19 Municipal and Nagar Panchayat areas we will do the same. We will develop government hospitals like corporate-style hospitals,” he said.

He said that today he had inaugurated 11 projects worth Rs 105.73 crore. “In the last financial year, I inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth Rs 1,500 crore, and in this financial year, till now, over Rs 121 crore. We are working for the development of infrastructure. We have expanded our capital expenditure and kept Rs 10,000 crore for infrastructure. This government only thinks about the public,” said Dr. Saha.

Dr. Saha also spoke about the Destination Tripura Conclave 2026, where over 1,200 people came from other states as well as from foreign countries. “We had targeted MoUs worth Rs 1 lakh crore, but it stood at Rs 1.21 lakh crore.

“PM Modi has given us the HIRA Model, and people are now well aware of Tripura. We have implemented many flagship projects as well as state government schemes which are benefiting the people. Our GSDP has significantly increased. We have received over 350 national awards. We are implementing many projects for the next generation,” said Dr. Saha.

During the meeting, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Minister Tinku Roy, MLA Abhishek Debroy, MLA Jitendra Majumder, Secretary Kiran Gitte, Secretary P.K. Chakraborty, and other officials were present.
