Tinku Roy announces to establish girls’ orphanage at Chhaintoil in Chandipur

Date:

Agartala, 26th  July 2026 : In a major initiative aimed at securing the future of orphaned girls, Tripura’s Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy has announced that a dedicated girls’ orphanage will be set up at Chhaintoil village under the Chandipur Assembly constituency.

Describing the project as a humanitarian and social welfare initiative, Roy said orphaned girls are among the most vulnerable sections of society, often deprived of parental love and family support from an early age. He said the proposed orphanage would serve not only as a safe shelter but also as a nurturing home where children can grow with dignity, confidence, and hope.

According to the minister, the institution will provide comprehensive care with a strong emphasis on education, personality development, and skill enhancement. Along with formal education, the girls will receive training in music, dance, painting, computer literacy, and vocational skills to help them become independent and self-sufficient in the future.

Roy said the orphanage would be guided by the principle that every girl deserves equal opportunities to realise her dreams. Citing the ideals of Sanatan Dharma, he remarked that daughters are revered as “Kanya Ratna” (precious gems), and every effort would be made to raise the children with affection, respect, and care.

The minister also lauded the dedication of the Didimonis and caregivers who devote themselves to nurturing orphaned children, describing them as motherly figures who play an essential role in shaping their lives and future.

Stressing that the progress of every girl child contributes to the development of society, Roy said orphanages should be recognised as institutions of opportunity rather than sympathy. He expressed confidence that the Chhaintoil orphanage would produce future doctors, teachers, administrators, artists, and professionals while standing as a beacon of hope, empowerment, and compassion for orphaned girls across the state.
