Agartala, 26th July 2026:  Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed with due solemnity on Saturday under the initiative of the NSS Unit of Women’s College, Agartala, to pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of India’s armed forces.

As part of the observance, NSS volunteers visited the East Agartala Police Station and the East Agartala Women’s Police Station, where they honored police and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel by pinning tricolor badges on them and distributing chocolates as a token of gratitude. The gesture was warmly appreciated by all the personnel present, who lauded the students for their patriotic initiative.

The programme aimed to instill a sense of nationalism and respect for the country’s security forces among the youth while commemorating the sacrifices of the brave soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil War.

Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on July 26 to mark India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil War. The day serves as a reminder of the courage, dedication, and supreme sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty. On this occasion, citizens across the country pay homage to the martyrs and express gratitude to all those serving the nation.
