Agartala, 3rd August 2026: A wave of shock and suspicion has gripped the Laltila area of Bishalgarh following the mysterious death of a housewife late Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Sonka Nama, wife of Bikash Nama.
Local sources informed that, Sonka, a mother of three, had long endured distress due to her husband’s alleged addiction. While her in-laws claimed she died by suicide through hanging, her paternal family strongly refuted this, insisting that no signs of strangulation or suicide were visible.
The most serious allegation raised is that Sonka’s body was left lying in the courtyard for a prolonged period before her paternal relatives arrived and rushed her to Bishalgarh Sub-divisional Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Bishalgarh Women’s Police Station staff reached the hospital soon after receiving the news. The incident has sparked widespread tension in the locality, with residents demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
