Agartala, 7th August 2026 : The Youth Tipra Federation (YTF) has approached the West Agartala Police Station seeking legal action against a person for allegedly making objectionable remarks about Tipra Motha founder and royal scion of Tripura, Pradyot Bikram Kishore Manikya Debbarma, through social media platforms.
The complaint was submitted by YTF Sepahijala District President Babulu Debbarma and West District Vice-President Adarsh Debbarma along with other members of the organisation.
The complainants alleged that Sanjib Debbarma had shared several posts on Facebook containing offensive and disrespectful comments directed at Pradyot Kishore Manikya. They claimed that such posts were unacceptable and had hurt the sentiments of many supporters and members of the indigenous community.
While acknowledging the importance of free expression, the YTF members stated that criticism should remain within the limits of decency and should not involve personal attacks or content that could provoke social unrest.They alleged that the posts were aimed at creating controversy and disturbing communal harmony, and requested the police to take necessary steps after examining the matter.
The organisation has urged authorities to register a case, investigate the alleged online activities, verify the digital evidence and initiate appropriate action against those found responsible.YTF representatives also informed that they would extend all cooperation to the police and provide relevant documents, screenshots and other evidence during the course of the investigation.
