Agartala, 9th August 2026: Blood donation is a unique commitment to humanity, and such humanitarian initiatives further strengthen the spirit of compassion, responsibility and service in society.
Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha said this while participating in a blood donation camp organized today at the Smriti Club premises on the initiative of Ward No. 20 of Agartala Municipal Corporation.
The Chief Minister extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the organizers of the blood donation camp and to all those who came forward to save lives by donating blood voluntarily.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said that, in the interest of humanity, more people should come forward to donate blood.
“Whenever a blood donation camp is organized, I try to be there. The municipal wards are also doing such social work along with providing civic services. For this, I thank them for their initiative. We all know that blood has no religion or caste. Blood donation can save the lives of dying people,” he said.
During the discussion, the Chief Minister said that despite various attempts by the opposition to tarnish the government, the government is working for the people and will continue to work for the overall welfare of the people in the future.
“They are trying to mislead the people in various ways. Although the people are on our side in terms of our work, under the leadership of the renowned Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government and the state government are working sincerely for the people. Various problems will arise while working. But we have to solve those problems and move forward. We have no words except work. We have to remain active in the interests of the people through our work. All the problems that were created during the previous government’s tenure have to be solved by us now. They created all the problems in the job sector. But now, looking at their attitude, it seems that we have created them,” he said.
He also said that many pumps have now been installed for the drainage of Agartala city.
“More pumps will be installed. We are looking at how to work faster by using technology. Depending on the rainfall, it is now possible to remove accumulated water within a few hours. Although the opposition is misleading people by portraying the situation in an exaggerated manner through social media manipulation, our government is a government of problem-solving, not a government of problem creation,” he said.
Mayor and MLA of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumdar, Chairman of the Central Zone of the Municipal Corporation Ratna Dutta and other prominent persons were present as distinguished guests at the event.
After the blood donation camp, the Chief Minister inaugurated the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme. Along with this, he also formally inaugurated the Durga Puja theme of Smriti Club for this year.
