House Gutted in Fire After LPG Cylinder Explosion in Kailashahar

Agartala, 20th  August 2026 : A residential house was completely gutted in a devastating fire following an LPG cylinder explosion at Dhaliarkandi village under Gournagar block in Kailashahar on Wednesday.

The house, belonging to local resident Bidhan Chowdhury, caught fire after a gas cylinder inside the premises reportedly exploded suddenly. The fire quickly spread throughout the house, triggering panic in the area.

After receiving the information, a fire service team rushed to the spot with a large fire tender and launched efforts to bring the blaze under control. However, due to the intensity of the fire, almost none of the belongings inside the house could be salvaged.

Furniture, electronic appliances and other essential household items were completely destroyed in the incident. Preliminary estimates suggest that property worth more than Rs 1 lakh may have been lost in the fire.

The exact cause of the cylinder explosion and the total extent of the damage are yet to be ascertained.
