Agartala, 20th August 2026 : Scheduled Caste (SC) Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das on Thursday chaired a review meeting at the State Secretariat to assess the progress of various welfare schemes, developmental activities and future initiatives of the department.
The meeting was attended by the Special Secretary, Director and other senior officials of the SC Welfare Department. During the review, the Minister took stock of ongoing schemes and projects and discussed their implementation status, achievements and challenges.
Officials briefed the Minister on the progress of different programmes being implemented for the welfare and development of the Scheduled Caste community across the state. Discussions also focused on strengthening existing initiatives and preparing effective action plans for the coming days.
Minister Das directed the officials to adopt more effective, result-oriented and coordinated measures to ensure that the benefits of government welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries in a timely and transparent manner.
He stressed the importance of improving the implementation and monitoring of welfare programmes while addressing gaps that may prevent beneficiaries from receiving the intended support.
The Minister also called for greater coordination among officials and concerned agencies to improve the delivery of welfare services and ensure that development programmes have a meaningful impact at the grassroots level.
The meeting concluded with emphasis on strengthening the department’s future initiatives and ensuring that the welfare, development and empowerment of the Scheduled Caste community remain a key priority of the government.
