Agartala, 29th August 2026: East Agartala Police Station has recovered two stolen motorcycles, a pair of gold earrings and a mobile phone, while detaining one person in connection with the case.

OC Krishnadhan Sarkar said police acted promptly after receiving information that a youth had brought a motorcycle to sell. With public cooperation, the youth was detained and the bike, earrings and mobile phone were seized. Investigation revealed that the motorcycle was stolen.

Police also found that another motorcycle was being operated with a duplicate registration number. Verification with the registered owner revealed that the engine and chassis numbers of the seized bike did not match its registration details, confirming it was stolen.

Sarkar said one person from near Nandannagar Amtali School has been detained and an investigation is underway. He added that police had previously arrested members of the same group, with three sent to court recently and five currently in jail. Police will continue efforts to identify and arrest the remaining members of the gang.
