Agartala, 30th August 2026 : A couple sustained injuries after being attacked by a bear while cleaning a rubber plantation in Panjeeya Mag Para under the Birendranagar ADC Village of Jolaibari Assembly constituency on Sunday morning. The husband reportedly suffered serious injuries in the attack.
According to local sources, residents of Mag Para, Aongsaphai Mog and his wife Aongsano Mog, had gone to a rubber plantation near their house to clear the area. During the work, a bear suddenly attacked them.
Both sustained injuries in the attack. While Aongsaphai Mog suffered serious injuries, his wife sustained comparatively minor injuries.
Following the incident, local residents rescued the injured couple and rushed them to Shantirbazar District Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
The bear attack has triggered panic among residents of the area. Locals have urged people to remain cautious while working in rubber plantations and other areas located near forested zones.
