Agartala, 3rd September 2026 : The Tripura unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its organisational preparations ahead of the upcoming Village Committee elections.
A crucial meeting with members of the party’s Management Committee was held at the BJP state headquarters in Agartala on Thursday. The meeting focused on the party’s organisational preparedness, electoral strategy and other key issues related to the forthcoming Village Committee polls.
According to party sources, discussions were held on strengthening the BJP’s role and responsibilities during the election process and ensuring better coordination among the organisation at various levels. The leadership also discussed measures to further streamline the party’s election-related activities.
BJP state general secretary Chandan Debnath, state vice-presidents Amit Rakshit, Tapas Majumder, Ajanta Bhattacharjee, Uttara Debbarma and Tapas Bhattacharjee, among other senior party leaders, attended the meeting.
Political activities among various parties have already intensified ahead of the Village Committee elections. Against this backdrop, Thursday’s BJP meeting is being viewed as significant, with the party seeking to strengthen its organisational machinery and fine-tune its strategy for the upcoming polls.
