Agartala, 7th September 2026 : Based on specific intelligence inputs, a joint operation by personnel of NCC Police Station and the 35 Battalion of Assam Rifles led to the apprehension of two persons at Shalbagan, near the BSF Frontier, on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
During the operation, security personnel recovered two pistols, three magazines and eight live cartridges from their possession.
The apprehended individuals have been identified as Shrikant Kumar, a resident of Vaishali district in Bihar, and Suraj Kumar, a resident of Lakhisarai district in Bihar.
Police have initiated further investigation to ascertain the purpose behind the possession of the firearms and whether the duo has links to any criminal network.
