Agartala, 11th September 2026 : The third National Lok Adalat of the year will be organised across Tripura tomorrow, including at the Tripura High Court and all district and sub-divisional court premises in the state.
A Lok Adalat bench has also been constituted at the Tripura High Court to facilitate the settlement of cases through an alternative dispute resolution mechanism.
A wide range of cases will be taken up during the National Lok Adalat, including motor accident compensation claims, matrimonial disputes, bank loan repayment cases, BSNL bill-related disputes and compoundable criminal cases under various laws, including the Motor Vehicles Act, Tripura Police Act and Excise Act.
Cases relating to cheque dishonour under the Negotiable Instruments Act, consumer rights disputes, other compoundable criminal matters and service-related cases will also be considered for settlement.
According to the Tripura State Legal Services Authority (TSLSA), notices have already been served to the concerned parties in the cases scheduled to be taken up.
Executive Chairman of the State Legal Services Authority, Justice Dr. Amarnath Goud, has issued necessary directions for the successful conduct of the National Lok Adalat across the state.
TSLSA Member Secretary VP Debbarma appealed to all concerned parties to take advantage of the opportunity to settle their cases quickly and without incurring legal expenses.
The National Lok Adalat is aimed at providing litigants with a speedy, accessible and cost-effective mechanism for resolving disputes through mutual settlement.
