Agartala, 11th September 2026 : Community Health Officers (CHOs) in Tripura submitted a six-point charter of demands to the Director of the National Health Mission (NHM) on Friday, seeking regularization of service, salary increments and other employment benefits.
Around 300 CHOs are currently working across the state, and they said many have been serving continuously for nearly six years without regularization. They demanded immediate regularization for those completing six years of service, job security and benefits at par with regular government employees.
The CHOs also demanded that the Performance-Based Incentive (PBI) be incorporated into their monthly basic salary instead of remaining linked to individual performance targets. They further called for an overall salary hike and improvement in their service conditions.
