Agartala, 14th September 2026 : A delegation from the Bishalgarh Ramakrishna Sevashram submitted a memorandum to the Additional District Magistrate of Sepahijala district, urging the authorities to arrange a two-minute halt for the Kanchanjunga Express at Bishalgarh Railway Station.
The delegation said the demand was made in the interest of residents of the district’s three subdivisions—Jampuijala, Bishalgarh and Sonamura. According to them, a brief stoppage of the train at Bishalgarh would provide significant relief to people travelling outside the state, particularly students, patients and pilgrims.
They pointed out that a large number of residents depend on railway services for travel to other states for education, medical treatment and religious purposes. A halt at Bishalgarh, they said, would make such journeys more convenient and reduce the difficulties faced by passengers from the region.
The memorandum was submitted by representatives of the Bishalgarh Ramakrishna Sevashram. Speaking to the media, Secretary Gouranga Debnath, President Pradip Dutta and key member Pappu Acharya highlighted the importance of the demand and urged the authorities to take necessary steps to secure the stoppage.
