Sudhangshu appeals to Tripura to light ‘Ashirwad Pradip’ at 6:30 PM for Modi

Date:

Agartala, 16th September 2026 : A call to light the ‘Ashirwad Pradip’ across Tripura will mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17, with Animal Resource Development, Fisheries and SC Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das urging people to participate in the programme.

As part of the nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, Das appealed to citizens to light a lamp in their homes at 6:30 PM on Thursday and pray for the Prime Minister’s good health and long life.

Describing the occasion as significant, Das said Modi has completed 25 years of public service, beginning with his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister from 2001 to 2013 and followed by his service as Prime Minister since 2014. He said the birthday would be observed through programmes centred on service, welfare and public participation.

Das specifically appealed to beneficiaries of various Central government welfare schemes to join the initiative. He mentioned beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat, PM-KISAN, Poshan Abhiyan and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, among others.

“Light the ‘Ashirwad Pradip’ in your homes at 6:30 PM and pray to the Almighty for the Honourable Prime Minister’s good health and longevity,” Das said in his appeal.

He further urged villagers and beneficiaries to assemble after the home lamp-lighting at local Natmandirs, community halls and temples for prayers and collective participation.

Making a special appeal to the people of his Fatikroy constituency and citizens across Tripura, Das said he would personally light the lamp and called upon people to join the programme to commemorate Modi’s birthday.

He also highlighted Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’, saying that the Prime Minister has devoted himself to public service and worked to strengthen India’s standing globally.
