Agartala, 19th September 2026 : A mega health camp was organised at the Sri Ramakrishna Seva Samiti in MB Tilla, A.D. Nagar, on Saturday, providing medical consultations and diagnostic services to a large number of people from the locality.
Doctors from different medical disciplines, including dentistry, general medicine and gastroenterology, attended the camp and offered consultations. Various medical tests were also conducted as part of the initiative, aimed at making essential healthcare services accessible to the public.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Rajat Chakraborty of Sri Ramakrishna Seva Samiti, MB Tila, said the organisation conducts the health camp every year in collaboration with the Agartala Lions Club. He said the event is publicised through announcements within a radius of around four kilometres, drawing a significant number of patients from surrounding areas.
Dr. Chakraborty said the Seva Samiti also undertakes several social welfare activities throughout the year, including distribution of new clothes and blankets among needy people. He highlighted that BPL beneficiaries are provided spectacles free of cost, while eye surgeries are conducted at a nominal charge of Rs 1,800.
He said doctors from various specialities regularly participate in the organisation’s welfare programmes. The Samiti also extends financial assistance from Ashram funds to people facing difficulties related to education, marriage and other needs.
According to Dr. Chakraborty, the organisation observes various programmes throughout the year as part of its annual calendar and receives strong support from the local community. He also acknowledged the support extended by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder and the local councillor towards its activities.
The organisers said the continued participation of local residents reflects the importance of such community-based healthcare and social welfare initiatives.
