Agartala, 23rd September 2026 : The National AYUSH Mission (NAM), Tripura, observed the 11th Ayurveda Day at the office of the Mission Director in Palace Compound, Agartala, on Tuesday, highlighting the importance of traditional Ayurvedic practices in promoting holistic health and well-being.
The observance was organised in line with the national theme, “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow,” which emphasises the integration of time-tested Ayurvedic practices into modern lifestyles for long-term health.
The programme was attended by the Mission Director, State AYUSH Officer, Member Secretary of the State Health and Family Welfare Society (SHFWS), and State Nodal Officer of NAM. Officials from the National AYUSH Mission, National Health Mission (NHM), Ayushman Bharat–Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) and development partners also participated in the event.
The programme began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a tribute to Lord Dhanvantari, regarded as the deity associated with Ayurveda and medicine. The participants also joined in Dhanwantari Vandana.
As part of the observance, officials and participants collectively took the Ayurveda pledge, reaffirming their commitment to adopting, promoting and propagating the principles of Ayurveda within communities.
Addressing the gathering, the Mission Director deliberated on measures to expand the reach of AYUSH systems across Tripura and strengthen an integrated and resilient healthcare ecosystem in the state.
The observance underscored the role of Ayurveda and other traditional systems of medicine in complementing modern healthcare and promoting preventive and holistic approaches to well-being.
NAM Tripura reaffirmed its commitment to making holistic healthcare more accessible to people across the state and promoting greater awareness of Ayurveda as part of healthy living.
