Amtali Police return 20 stolen mobile phones ahead of Durga Puja

Agartala, 3rd October 2026 :  Amtali Police Station on Saturday returned 20 recovered stolen mobile phones to their rightful owners as part of an initiative to assist victims and strengthen public confidence in the police.

The recovered phones were handed over to the owners after police verified their details and ownership. The recipients welcomed the initiative and appreciated the efforts of the police in tracing and recovering the stolen devices.

Meanwhile, Amtali Police Station organised an interactive meeting with representatives of around 120 clubs ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja. The meeting focused on maintaining law and order, strengthening security arrangements and ensuring better coordination between the police administration, Puja organisers and the public during the festival.

Participants were urged to remain vigilant and extend cooperation to the police and security forces to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure peaceful celebrations.

The meeting was attended by Amtali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rana Chatterjee, Second Officer Ajit Chakma and former Police DSP Rajendra Prasad Dutta. Officers-in-charge of TSR, BSF and CRPF units, ward councillors, social workers and other prominent local residents were also present.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on collective responsibility and closer coordination among all stakeholders to maintain a peaceful environment throughout the Puja days.
