Agartala, 4th October 2026 : Counting of votes for the Village Committee elections under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) will begin at 8 am on October 5, with the State Election Commission making elaborate security arrangements across Tripura.
Tripura State Election Commission Secretary Anurag Sen said on Sunday that a total of 45 counting centres have been set up across 44 blocks for the counting process.
While most blocks will have a single counting hall, one block has been allocated two counting halls due to the larger number of seats involved, he said.
Elaborate security measures have been put in place to ensure a peaceful and transparent counting process. According to Sen, a three-tier security system will be enforced at the counting centres, including frisking and strict regulation of entry and movement.
Personnel from the Tripura Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and BSF will be deployed at various locations as part of the security arrangements.
Additional security personnel will also be positioned at sensitive locations and across the state to monitor the post-poll situation and prevent any untoward incident following the declaration of results.
“We are hopeful that with the cooperation of everyone, the counting process and the entire exercise will be completed smoothly,” Sen said.
The counting will decide the outcome of the recently concluded Village Committee elections under the TTAADC, with political parties and candidates eagerly awaiting the results.
