Agartala, 5th October 2026 : The foundation stone for a new Ward 22 office of the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) was laid and a Bhumipuja ceremony was held near the Jail area on Monday.
Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee attended the ceremony along with AMC Deputy Mayor Monika Das Datta, Member-in-Council (MIC) Himani Deb, officials and other public representatives.
The new office will replace the existing dilapidated ward office and is aimed at providing improved civic services and greater convenience to residents of the area.
The AMC has also undertaken plans to construct new office buildings for all 51 wards. Construction of offices for 15 wards has already been completed, while work for the remaining wards will be taken up in phases.
