40,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs 1.6 crore seized at Fatikroy

Agartala, 11th October 2026 : In a joint anti-drug operation, the Assam Rifles and Fatikroy Police Station personnel seized 40,000 Yaba tablets, estimated to be worth approximately Rs 1.6 crore, from a cargo dumper near the Radhanagar Assam Rifles camp.

The vehicle, bearing registration number TR-01-AT-1541, was intercepted during the operation, leading to the recovery of the suspected narcotic substances. However, the driver reportedly managed to escape from the spot.

Following the seizure, the vehicle and the recovered tablets were handed over to the concerned authorities and seized under applicable anti-narcotics laws.

An investigation has been initiated to trace the absconding driver and uncover the wider trafficking network behind the consignment. The authorities are working to establish the source of the tablets and identify those involved in the suspected drug trafficking operation.

The joint operation highlights ongoing efforts by security forces and police to curb the movement of illegal narcotics in Tripura.
