Agartala, 11th October 2026 : Serious allegations of domestic abuse, mental and physical torture, and extramarital relationships have surfaced against a lawyer from Bishalgarh, triggering a stir in the area. The accused, Rajib Prasad Das, is a member of the Bishalgarh Bar Association and resides in the Kabarakhala area near Bishalgarh police station. His wife, Tanisha, has levelled multiple allegations against him.
According to Tanisha, she married Rajib Prasad Das around a year ago. She claimed that gold ornaments, furniture and other valuables worth several lakhs of rupees were given as dowry at the time of the marriage.
Tanisha further alleged that her husband had been involved in relationships with multiple women even before their marriage and that such relationships continued after the wedding. She claimed that he had relationships with several women from different areas, including Agartala and Udaipur. According to her, she possesses evidence related to these alleged relationships on her mobile phone.
The wife alleged that she began facing harassment and abuse after the matter came to light. She further claimed that she was eventually forced to leave her matrimonial home. The couple’s divorce proceedings are reportedly underway in court.
Expressing concern over the allegations, Tanisha said it was unfortunate that a person practising law and expected to uphold justice was himself facing allegations of domestic abuse and extramarital relationships.
