Agartala, 17th October 2026 : Tripura Congress MLA and former minister Sudip Roy Barman has been included in the list of 31 leaders appointed by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) as observers for its ‘Vote Bachao–Desh Bachao’ campaign.
In a press release dated October 16, AICC General Secretary K. C. Venugopal announced that the Congress President had approved the appointments with immediate effect. The observers will oversee the campaign across designated clusters of districts.
The ‘Vote Bachao–Desh Bachao’ campaign, which translates to ‘Save the Vote, Save the Nation’, is aimed at highlighting the Congress party’s concerns over electoral issues and safeguarding democratic rights.
Roy Barman’s appointment brings a leader from Tripura into the party’s organisational effort to supervise and coordinate the campaign at the district level.
