Agartala, 24th October 2026 : Tripura Police have launched an investigation after the body of a woman was recovered from Durgapur under Khowai district on Friday.
According to police, information about the recovery of the body was received at around 1 pm to 1:30 pm. Acting on the information, a police team, accompanied by the case officer and other senior officials, visited the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident.
The deceased was identified as Monika Debnath, wife of Laxman Pal. Following the initial investigation at the scene, the body was brought to the district hospital for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death.
Police said the investigation is currently underway and further details will be shared as the inquiry progresses. The circumstances surrounding the woman’s death have not yet been established.
