Agartala, May 18, 2023: A couple was seriously injured after being beaten up by the people of a neighbouring house led by the alleged accused persons Gopal Sarkar and Thakur Charan Sarkar at Indranagar Kalibari area on Thursday.
Four persons entered the house of Tapan Chakraborty on Thursday and started assaulting him and his wife Sita Rani Chakraborty. In this attack, both sustained grievous injuries. Tapan Chakraborty and his wife are currently undergoing treatment at GB Hospital.
Tapan said that someone threw stones at Gopal Sarkar’s house. At this, Gopal Sarkar got furious and came out on the street and found Tapan’s younger brother in the street and beats him up suspiciously. Later Tapan heard his younger brother’s screams and ran. When they tried to stop them, the mercenaries led by Gopal Sarkar beat Tapan Chakraborty and his wife. Tapan Chakraborty and his wife were seriously injured.
Later the locals rushed to rescue Tapan Chakraborty and his wife and brought them to the hospital. The police rushed to the news. The injured Tapan’s family will file a case at the police station, his mother said.
