Women’s force blocked Ambasa railway station-Kachucherra road demanding drinking water

Agartala, June 18, 2023: There are many problems in each ward of Ambasa Municipal Council, various problems including roads, electricity, drinking water have become a daily sufferings.

In the meantime, due to the rains of the last few days, there has been a new problem of electricity and drinking water. There has been an acute drinking water crisis for the past three to four days in Chandraicherra area of Ward No. 9 of Ambasa Municipal Council.

Meanwhile, women’s force of Chandraicherra area blocked Ambasa railway station-Kachucherra road on Sunday afternoon. On being informed, the police rushed to talk to the protesters, but they claimed that they would not stop the movement without getting drinking water.

After a while, Ward No. 9 councilor Suman Debnath went to the spot and talked to the women. Finally, the councilor assured to deliver water to every house by tonight. He also said that drinking water problem is over for now and do your best to avoid such a situation in the future.

On receiving this assurance, the local people called off the siege. As a result of this blockade, many vehicles were stuck on both sides of the road.

Now let’s see when the problem of drinking water in Chandraicherra area will end.
