Administration to initiate strict action for curb drugs menace: CM tells after listening ‘Mann Ki Baat’

Agartala, July 30, 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasizes building a drug-free society. He urges the party workers to focus on creating a society free from addiction. The Chief Minister, Dr Manik Saha, attended the event “Mann Ki Baat” at Friends Union Club in Ward no. 32 on Sunday, along with Mayor Dipak Majumdar. During the interaction with workers of Booth number 22, the Chief Minister shared his thoughts in the 103rd episode of “Mann Ki Baat”.

To commemorate Independence Day and pay tribute to the brave freedom fighters, Prime Minister Narendra Modi begins the “Meri Mati Yeh Re Desh” campaign, aiming to address various important issues. Among them, he highlights the importance of a drug-free society.

The Tripura government has taken several initiatives to make Tripura drug-free. On Saturday, during an event with law enforcement officers, it was stressed that in NDPS cases, no bail should be granted to the accused. On Sunday, the Prime Minister also gives significant importance to this matter, he added.

CM said “The rampant drug abuse is causing devastation not only to the addicted individuals but also to their families and society at large. The problem is not confined to Tripura alone; it extends to Assam, Mizoram, and other states in the country. Hence, the administration has been directed to take stringent actions to combat this menace”.
